CBS lagoon building | burbank, CA | 12,500 square feet
Occupying the former site of the famed lagoon from the 1960’s Gilligan’s Island television show, the Lagoon Building provides much needed production office space and parking to the busy CBS Radford studio lot in Studio City.
Three floors containing two, 5,000 square foot suites each sit over two floors of parking. An exterior walkway runs the length of the south side providing shade for the offices and an opportunity to show off the building’s structural frame.
The sloping site allows for direct drive-in access for both parking levels as well as a pedestrian bridge to the lowest level of offices. Pedestrian circulation is all exterior on wide walkways and open-air stairs that overlook the lush hillside to the south. Each suite features a balcony facing the Los Angeles River just a few feet away and the San Fernando mountains beyond.
